Occupy Harlem General Assembly - Friday, March 2.

SAVE THE DATE: OCCUPY HARLEM NEXT GA
FRIDAY, MARCH 2, 2012 6 to 9 PM
*Guest Speakers include Glen Ford, Executive Editor, Black Agenda Report
" Gentrification and Redistricting in Harlem"
"Building the Stop Stop and Frisk Movement Locally/Nationally"

*The chickens have finally come home to roost in Harlem. After decades
of selling out Harlem to New York City's poweful real estate industry
local Black politicans have succeeded in destroying their own
political base. None more than Harlem's famous Black congressional
disrict that sweep Adam Clayton Powell Jr. into national prominence.
In all probability the historic Black seat hasl cease to hold its
Black majority  political base because of  population loss.Don't miss
this powerful analysis that has national implications. Direct Action
proposal for this coming Spring: Anti-gentrification protest rally
across 125th and Occupy New York State Division of Housing and Home
Renewal: a state regulatory agency in the pocket of the real estate
industry.

The Stop Stop and Frisk campaign is building in momentum, particularly
among Black students. Carl Dix will join us to discuss upping the ante
in militancy and strategic objectives.

Carl Dix to speak February 18th: "Mass Incarceration + Silence = Genocide"

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 4:00 PM at The Riverside Church, Assembly Hall, 490 Riverside Drive, New York (#1 to 116th or 125th)

Mass Incarceration — Its Source, The Need to Resist Where Things Are Heading and The Revolution We Need!

2.4 million people, most of them Black and Latino, in prison!

Racial profiling a pipeline to prison for generations of our youth!
Former prisoners discriminated against on virtually every front!
Carl Dix says, "All this comes down to a slow genocide which could easily accelerate into fast genocide."

Dix will break all this down and speak to where things are headed if action is not taken. And he will talk about "what kind of revolution is needed to eliminate mass incarceration and all the brutality and misery this capitalist system enforces on humanity once and for all."

BETTER MUS' COME
Dir. Storm Saulter, 98 min., Jamaica
Passion, politics and poverty collide as this stunning love story unfolds against a backdrop of political turmoil. Set in 1970's Jamaica, Better Mus' Come is based on a violent moment in history when rival gangs were enlisted by warring political factions to disrupt the democratic process, and bloodshed was unleashed in the streets of Jamaica. Better Mus' Come begins in ’77 and ends the in the first couple days of ’78 during the Green Bay Massacre. This explosive film follows Ricky, a gang leader and political pawn, as he struggles to navigate the hardships of life in Kingston, and to define a better way of life for his young son.
